'ยังอยู่', pronounced: yang yu, is Thai for 'remain' or 'still here' and often refers to a state of semi-perpituity.
"The body of work I create stems from a personal issue – my inability to accurately communicate and verbalise my thoughts. In my attempt to express raw, subjective, human emotion, I found that this work isn’t about accurate communication but instead another way to communicate."
These photographs were captured in diverse locales, spanning Buriton, Brooklyn, Bangkok, Berlin, and Bournemouth, during the five-year period from 2011 to 2016.
On February 2nd 2019, ยังอยู่ (Yang Yu) was featured apart of an exhibit at Galerie Oasis in memoriam of Leo Gauvain and his photographic works.
